Pre-treatment instructions: 

• Avoid blood-thinning medications (NSAIDS, aspirin, ibuprofen, certain vitamins, and supplements) 72 hours (3 days) prior to your appointment
• Limit alcohol consumption minimum 24 hours prior to injection to minimize risk of bruising and inflammation
• Avoid smoking as it can impair the body's ability to heal and increase risk of complications
• Ensure adequate hydration in the days leading up to your appointment- well-hydrated skin responds better to injectable treatments
• Use sun protection and avoid excessive exposure prior to your appointment to minimize the risk of inflammation and sensitivity
• Let Pure Cosmetics know if there are any changes to your medical history or medications since your last visit
• Plan for some downtime following your visit in the case of bruising, swelling or prolonged redness

Contraindications:

• Have open wounds, cuts or abrasions on the area(s) being treated
• Had radiation treatment to the skin within past year
• Any kind of current skin infection or herpes simplex to the area to be treated (can trigger outbreaks)
• Pregnant or breastfeeding
• Poor wound healing
• Botox/Dermal fillers injected within past 2 weeks
• Microneedling or other skin resurfacing within past two weeks

Post treatment instructions: 

• No Touching! Avoid touching or massaging the treated areas immediately after the procedure to prevent product from spreading into unintended areas
• No laying down for 4 hours after neurotoxin injections
• No working out (any activity that may produce sweat- including gardening!) for 24 hours
• Avoid heat exposure (hot baths, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, intense sun exposure, etc) for 24-48 hours
• You may experience a "botox headache" in the days following neurotoxin injections- this is considered normal and should subside as the product settles into the muscle over the next several days; if needed, clients can take an over-the-counter medication like Tylenol to manage any discomfort
• If it is your first time, we encourage you to schedule a 2-3 week followup to ensure you've received the desired result! You can always cancel if the appointment is no longer needed.
• Do not schedule any facials or massages within 2 weeks of injection
• Contact our office immediately if you experience any severe or unexpected reactions such as excessive swelling, persistent discomfort or signs of infection

Please note: Neurotoxins take 2 full weeks for the product to settle into the muscle and dermal fillers 2-3 weeks to the product to fully settle into the tissue. Please note that Pure Cosmetics cannot "reinject" or "touch up" areas until the 2 week mark.
